Italy awards Iran’s short film ‘Animal’

Iranian short ‘Animal’ grabs award at the Diamond Film Awards in Italy.

Iranian short ‘Animal’ has grabbed an award at the Diamond Film Awards in Italy.

Ali Abpak won the Best Cinematography at the May 2019 edition of the Italian event for ‘Animal’.

The film, co-directed by Bahram Ark and Bahman Ark, is about a man who disguises himself as a sheep in order to cross the border.

Iran’s short films ‘Varahram’ and ‘Birthday Night’ were awarded at the April edition of the event.

‘Varahram’ was named the Best Film while ‘Birthday Night’ brought Mohammad Najjarian-Nourian the Best Film Editing.

The Diamond Film Awards aims to promote films and help filmmakers to improve their careers.

The festival is held on a monthly basis with winners being named each month.

The final winners will be announced on June 21, 2019.
